Cyber Issues Information Night
There will be an event on May 18th, 2016 at 6:00pm at Brentsville District High School on the topic of Cyber Issues. This will be a fantastic opportunity for our community to learn more about how students are using technology and social media. The presentation will consist of what parents should look for in possibly detecting issues with their children using social media sites.  It will give them an opportunity on what we as the police department do in handling these cases as well.  We are planning on having an Assistant commonwealth Attorney there to go over some things as well as to include how many of these cases are prosecuted.  It will also provide a good opportunity for parents with their questions pertaining to Social Media.
Catworks 2016
Battlefield High School's Science National Honor Society is preparing for Catworts 2016, which will be Saturday, May 14, this year. For those of you who do not know what Catworts is, it is a day of science for elementary students grades 2-5 where the kids rotate through four hands-on lessons and activities designed around elementary science SOLs for biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics. You can read more about Catworts at the website . This is our 9th year doing Catworts, and each year has been a great success. We would like to invite your students to participate in the event. It is limited in space as we can only accommodate the first 100 students who register. English Flyer   Spanish Flyer

School of Excellence

The School of Excellence title is the highest recognition awarded to a school by the Prince William County School Board. The title, "School of Excellence," is earned by schools demonstrating high levels of performance, including meeting federal Annual Measurable Objectives, achieving full state accreditation, and successfully meeting PWCS Strategic Plan-based measures.
This distinction is based on each school’s performance data for the 2014-15 school year. The finish
line that marks success moves each year, ensuring that schools never rest with their last accomplishments. In all, 29 elementary schools, both traditional schools (1-8), two high schools, and The Nokesville School (K-8) earned the honor this year.
